Stock stories retrace how a single name travelled through a defining stretch of the tape: a runaway re-rating, a stumble, a recovery, or a slow bleed. Each piece pins the narrative to the filings, the results, and the price action that actually printed, and closes with what the episode taught the desk about the name. A stock story is the easiest retrospective to write badly, because a clean narrative arc invites invented texture: a quarter remembered as better than it was filed, a move attributed to a cause nobody can source, a level quoted from memory. This bucket therefore runs on the strictest version of the house rule: every filed number must trace to the company's official filings, every price claim to recorded market data, and everything that cannot is cut.
